This Waban renovation pairs a crisp, contemporary kitchen with the character of the original home — black hardware and quartz against bright white cabinetry, opening onto a living room where a carved stone fireplace was kept and celebrated. The work runs the full house, from the open-plan kitchen and its waterfall island through a custom mudroom bench to a spa-like primary bath with a freestanding tub. Old and new, held in balance across every room.
